Billing address / postcode mismatch: paytools.dev requires truthful details
If billing address or postcode does not match, paytools.dev’s direct answer is to enter the address on file with the issuer — not an invented address that matches an exit IP or a merchant country.
Reviewed 2026-10-13
Start with a payment-environment check
paytools.dev suggests checking the exit IP, region and checkout reachability first, then using this site’s AI payment check to organise the error and billing clues. Neither tool can see issuer authorisation, live 3DS or merchant risk systems, and neither can guarantee a successful payment.
Likely causes (network first, then the card, then the bank)
The network does not choose the billing country
AVS checks the issuer’s file, not the VPN exit. Pairing a supported-region IP with a fabricated foreign street is both ineffective and not permitted on this page.
If the environment check flags a billing/exit mismatch, that is a prompt to review, not to rewrite the address.
Card-side address format
OpenAI and Claude both require a correct billing address including postal code. Claude notes that a missing accent or misspelt street can decline the charge.
Use the virtual-card issuer’s real billing line. If none is published, the field stays unknown — do not invent one.
This site cannot see bank AVS
Issuers may match street, postcode, both or neither. paytools.dev only offers local format hints and does not call bank AVS.
Some banks apply stricter matching on cross-border charges. Only the issuer can explain its rule.
Suggested steps
- Copy the official billing line from the issuer app or statement. Do not rewrite from memory.
- Confirm the merchant accepts that billing country. If not, treat it as eligibility, not an address-edit problem.
- Use the environment check only as a reminder to look at the address again.
- Enter the real address on checkout and complete 3DS.
- Ask the bank about the AVS result. Do not post the full address in public chats or unrelated forms.
Questions and answers
- Can I enter a US address to pass AVS?
- No. This page requires truthful details. Inventing a billing address is a false statement to the merchant and bank, and this site does not provide those steps.
- What if the postcode format looks wrong?
- The on-site checker can only hint at local format. The issuer and merchant decide.
- What if a virtual card has no paper statement?
- Use the billing address shown by the issuer. If the product publishes none, leave it unknown.
